What is Authenticity? |
|
My goal is to provide high quality, documentable historically accurate products. I have high standards in authenticity. Everything that is on my site is either based on an original or designed as closely as my research and modernly available materials allows. I am happy to produce my documentation for anything you see upon request.
I use all natural materials wherever possible. If natural materials are not available I will make it clear. This may be the case with certain items such as carpetbags or slippers.
Any clothing made by me will not have polyester content in the fabric. If natural fiber trims are not available I may substitute synthetic, but I will alert you of this fact. I do not use elastic except in period appropriate ways. You will never buy an elastic or drawstring waistband petticoat from me.
I use a 103 year old treadle sewing machine to create my clothing.
My goal is to provide unique items for the re-enactor. You will find details that often get overlooked in people’s impressions. If there is something you’d like to see here, please contact me and I will see what I can do to better meet your needs. |
